In addition to installing the options you selected, the following occurs during setup:

dBASE System-Level files (.DLL, .OCX, etc.) are installed and registered as required in the Windows, or Windows\System, directory.

The dBASE registry settings are written to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\dBASE\Plus

 

The Language of the installer will attempt to match the Windows system language setting. This can be set via the Control Panel | Regional Setting. During the install process, you are given the option of selecting additional languages. For example, if you select English and German, the User Interface resources and documentation (as available) will be installed for both languages

 

The User Interface language resources installed for the BDE Administrator, the BDE Online Help, and the User Interface resources for the Project Explorer, will match the language of the Installer itself. Multi-language installs are not supported for these components.

 

Where are the files?

Aside from the main application files that get installed to <root>\dBASE\Plus9, during install dBASE Plus will install the following folders in the c:\ProgramData\dBASE\Plus.. directory...

 

Bin

dBLClasses

Designer

Include

Media

Samples

Web

 

Bin:

holds the configuration files dBASE Plus uses to set some main IDE settings (in Plus.ini) and the look and feel of Source Editors (in .properties files) as well as some additional files needed to setup the dBASE IDE.

NOTE: this folder is copied over to the C:\Users\<userName>\appdata\local\dBASE\Plus9 directory as soon as the user opens dBASE for the very first time.

 

dBLClasses:

holds some sample pre-defined custom classes for forms, reports etc...

NOTE: this folder is copied over to the C:\Users\<userName>\appdata\local\dBASE\Plus9 directory as soon as the user opens dBASE for the very first time.

 

Designer:

This is one folder that is not meant for use of the customer. But, is needed to populate the user's directory with designer info.

NOTE: this folder is copied over to the C:\Users\<userName>\appdata\local\dBASE\Plus9 directory as soon as the user opens dBASE for the very first time.

 

Include:

holds some pre-defined .h include files as well as some popular .prg files that have some common Windows API definitions.

NOTE: this folder is copied over to the C:\Users\<userName>\appdata\local\dBASE\Plus9 directory as soon as the user opens dBASE for the very first time.

 

Media:

Holds many image and video files included for use as icons, images, backgrounds etc...

NOTE: This is the only folder that does NOT get copied to the C:\users.. directory.

 

Samples:

Holds a multitude of dBASE application samples. Including Forms, Reports, ADO examples etc...

NOTE: this folder is copied over to the C:\Users\<userName>\appdata\local\dBASE\Plus9 directory as soon as the user opens dBASE for the very first time.

 

Web:

Holds dBASE Web program samples.

NOTE: this folder is copied over to the C:\Users\<userName>\appdata\local\dBASE\Plus9 directory as soon as the user opens dBASE for the very first time.

 

With the exception of the 'Media' directory all of these folders are copied to the C:\Users\<yourUserName>\appdata\local\dBASE\Plus... directory during the first startup of a new build of dBASE Plus.

 

NOTE: both c:\ProgramData and c:\Users\<yourUserName>\appdata are initially hidden files and folders in Windows.

You can always use the Address bar in Windows Explorer to navigate to these folders whether or not they are un-hidden.
